Dr. Lane Hunter

 Dr. Lane Hunter is introduced in the medical drama series The Resident as the top oncologist in Georgia. She is initially shown as a skilled doctor who is kind and caring. However, as the series progresses it is revealed that she is involved in harmful medical practices. She was over treating patients and committing insurance fraud. Her actions caused conflicts within the hospital and affected characters in the series a lot. She was eventually arrested and when she is let out on bail she is shot to death by one of her former patients brother, concluding her storyline. Viewers have mixed reactions to the portrayal of Dr. Lane Hunter. For instance, Paste Magazine criticized the series for the portrayal of this kind of medical industry suggesting it might be too negative (Paste Magazine). However, I believe that the portrayal showed the harsh reality of how unethical practices can exist in the medical field. It made the storyline impactful and it highlighted the importance of holding those in power accountable even in trusted professions like healthcare. Overall, Dr. Lane Hunter is an disagreeable character. Her character makes me think about the consequences of unethical behavior in healthcare.

Dr. Devon Pravesh

 Dr.Devon Pravesh is one of the main characters in the medical drama series The Resident. He was introduced as an intern under the mentorship of Dr.Conrad Hawkins. It would be frustrating how his character handled certain situations he would come off as stubborn and judgmental. Specifically in Season 3 Episode 3 he disagreed how Conrad went about treating a patient. The patient was a convicted murderer who had someone in hostage. So, after the murderer surgery was successful Conrad withheld morphine from the murderer to get answers out of him. Devon went on to say Conrad tourtured the man and he even asked to be assigned to a new resident regarding Conrad's treatment. Fans even expressed their frustration with him. Dr. Randolph Bell

 Dr. Randolph Bell is the  CEO and  Chief of Surgery of Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in the medical drama series The Resident. In the first season Dr.Bell is a skilled surgeon who developed hand tremors whereas it eventually led to surgical errors. To protect his reputation he manipulates situations and covers up his mistakes, prioritizing his status over patient safety. This makes him seem selfish and more focused on his career. However, as the series goes on Dr.Bell changes a lot. He becomes more focused on both the hospital and the patients. He also becomes more honest and works to regain the trust of those around him.
