Dr. Mina Oakafor

 Dr. Oakafor is introduced as a very talented second year resident in the medical drama series The Resident. Mina stands out to me because she has the ability to perform high-stake surgeries even as a second year resident which is very unusual. I also love her willingness to call out Dr.Bell on several occasions. Earlier in season one of The Resident she confronts him about his poor surgical performance due to his hand tremor. Instead of ignoring the issue Mina informs him how his actions endanger patients and let him know that she refuses to assist in covering up his mistakes even if it risks her position at the hospital. She was born in Nigeria and she often faces immigration problems so her fearless attitude and dedication to patient safety makes her a great doctor. She is one of the most inspiring characters in the resident.

He is a doctor who puts his patients first even if it means breaking hospital rules. Dr. Devon Pravesh

 Dr.Devon Pravesh is one of the main characters in the medical drama series The Resident. He was introduced as an intern under the mentorship of Dr.Conrad Hawkins. It would be frustrating how his character handled certain situations he would come off as stubborn and judgmental. Specifically in Season 3 Episode 3 he disagreed how Conrad went about treating a patient. The patient was a convicted murderer who had someone in hostage. So, after the murderer surgery was successful Conrad withheld morphine from the murderer to get answers out of him. Devon went on to say Conrad tourtured the man and he even asked to be assigned to a new resident regarding Conrad's treatment. Fans even expressed their frustration with him. Dr. Randolph Bell

 Dr. Randolph Bell is the  CEO and  Chief of Surgery of Chastain Park Memorial Hospital in the medical drama series The Resident. In the first season Dr.Bell is a skilled surgeon who developed hand tremors whereas it eventually led to surgical errors. To protect his reputation he manipulates situations and covers up his mistakes, prioritizing his status over patient safety. This makes him seem selfish and more focused on his career. However, as the series goes on Dr.Bell changes a lot. He becomes more focused on both the hospital and the patients. He also becomes more honest and works to regain the trust of those around him. An example of Dr. Bell’s growth is how he handles the fallout from his earlier mistakes. In the first season as I mentioned Dr. Bell covers up his surgical errors caused by his hand tremor.
